About David:

Growing up in Charlotte, NC allowed me to spend much of my time fishing the lakes and beaches of the southeastern US and hiking in the mountains of North Carolina and Tennessee.  As my passion for the outdoors grew, so did my love of travel.  While traveling to over 20 countries throughout the world and visiting 49 of our states, I experienced a great deal of moving moments in nature and could never find the words to express the feelings these moments evoked.  I attempted to take pictures of my experiences and found them lacking emotion. This is when I decided to focus my time on creating images that would allow others to experience the emotions that I felt while taking the photos.

Today I travel regularly throughout the US and around the world looking for opportunities to see the outdoors in unfamiliar places as well new and unique perspectives on familiar places and bring back images worthy of sharing. I work in both color and black and white as I find that each allows me to emphasize aspects of an image that might make the viewer feel as though they were there when the moment was captured.

My images can often be found in various magazines and books and many prints can be purchased through my website.
