In September, Cauble Creek Vineyard was accepted as a member of the Goodness Grows in North Carolina program.  With over 2,800 members, the program promotes North Carolina’s large abundance of agriculture products.  Products from throughout North Carolina that are a part of this program are denoted with the Goodness Grows in North Carolina logo.  This denotes that they are locally grown and produced products.

Cauble Creek Vineyard LLC is an estate vineyard in Salisbury, North Carolina.  It is a new state of the art winery specializing in Muscadine wine products and providing sales of local community goods.  Located on 36 acres in western Rowan County, Cauble Creek Vineyard produces a variety of wines.  In addition, it also offers a line of Cauble Creek Vineyard food products that are all made in North Carolina.

This year a portion of the proceeds of the artwork will go to Rowan Helping Ministries.  Rowan Helping Ministries is a continuation of Rowan Cooperative Christian Ministry, a ministry begun in 1967 by several of Salisbury’s downtown churches.  Their programs include: the Overnight Shelter, Soup Kitchen, Clothing Center, Food Pantry, Crisis Assistance Network, Transitional Housing Programs, Rowan Helping Ministries-West, and New Tomorrows. In Mid-September 2012, Rowan Helping Ministries will break round on their new shelter, which is scheduled to be completed in spring-2014.

Be sure to keep an eye out for more information on the invitational, reception, participating artists, and the artists’ artwork.

Ingredients

• 2-4 Chicken Breasts
• 1/2 cup Carolyn Grace
• 1/4 cup Olive Oil
• 5-10 fresh basil leaves (sliced)
• 1 tablespoon minced garlic
• 1 lemon quartered
• 1 tsp Herbs de Provence
• 1 tsp Oregano
• 1 tsp Onion Powder
• 1 tsp kosher salt
• 1 tablespoon black pepper.

Instructions:

Combine all ingredients into a ziplock bag or casserole pan.  Be sure to squeeze the juice of the lemons into the marinade.  Put the lemon quarters in there as well.  Let the chicken remain in the marinade at least 2 hours.

After marinating cook as desired.  This recipe can be cooked in the oven, sauteed, or grilled.
